Walking in Love, Starting Today
Forgiveness is not the finish line. It is the doorway to something greater.
Right after Ephesians 4:32, Paul continues into chapter five with a remarkable call: imitate God as His dear children and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. That is the destination. A life shaped by love. A life that looks like Jesus. None of us get there perfectly. But here is the encouraging truth: anytime we genuinely forgive someone, it is not just us doing it. It is the grace of Christ working in us. We are not left to manufacture something we do not have. He provides what He requires. Bitterness, if we let it stay, will rob us of the joy God wants to give us. It will quietly take over more and more space in our hearts until there is little room left for anything else. But releasing it, even imperfectly and repeatedly, opens us back up to the life God designed for us. You have been forgiven completely. You have been called to walk worthy of that gift. You have been given the Holy Spirit to help you do what you cannot do alone. Start today. Not perfectly. Just faithfully. Hand over what you have been holding. Walk in kindness. Choose compassion. And trust that the God who forgave you is more than able to work through you to do the same for others.
Bible Verse
"Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." - Ephesians 5:1-2

Prayer
Father, I want my life to look like Jesus. Fill me with Your grace so that I can extend it to others. Help me to walk in love today, not in my own strength, but in Yours. Amen
