When Shadows Fall

When the Shadows Fall. 2 Kings 11:1–3

Key Truth

Darkness never means God has abandoned His people.

Athaliah believed she had eliminated every heir to David's throne. Humanly speaking, the promise appeared dead. Yet while evil celebrated, God was quietly preserving His plan through one hidden child.

There are seasons when life seems overwhelmed by darkness. We wonder if evil is winning. We question whether God is still working. The story of Joash reminds us that God's greatest work is often accomplished where no one else can see it.

God never panics. He never improvises. He never loses control.

Reflection

Where have you mistaken God's silence for God's absence?

Prayer

Father, help me trust You even when I cannot see what You are doing. Remind me that You are always at work behind the scenes. Amen.
