The Circle of Eternity: Understanding Christ’s Eternal Nature
This is day 2 of a 5-day devotional on the symbols of Christmas. This is a great family devotional teaching your children and grandchildren the true meaning of Christmas.
Have you ever wondered why Christmas wreaths are circular? This simple shape holds one of the most profound truths about Jesus Christ - His eternal nature. A circle has no beginning and no end. You can start anywhere on its circumference and travel forever without finding where it starts or stops. This perfectly illustrates who Jesus is. He wasn't created in Bethlehem; He has always existed. The baby in the manger was the eternal Son of God taking on human flesh.
In our world, everything has a beginning and an end. We're born, we live, we die. Seasons change, years pass, and even the strongest things eventually wear out. But Jesus stands outside of time. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, yet He Himself has no beginning or end.
This truth should bring incredible comfort to your heart. The Jesus who was born in Bethlehem is the same Jesus who spoke the universe into existence. The Christ who died on the cross is the same one who will reign forever. Your Savior isn't limited by time, circumstances, or human weakness. When life feels uncertain and everything around you seems temporary, remember the Christmas wreath.
Let it remind you that you serve an eternal God who never changes, never fails, and whose love for you has no beginning and will have no end.
Bible Verse
'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, 'who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.' - Revelation 1:8
