Not Everything That Glitters Is God
We live in a world full of spiritual noise. Signs, wonders, and powerful experiences are everywhere,
and many people assume that if something feels supernatural, it must be from God. Scripture tells a different story. When Moses stood before Pharaoh, the magicians of Egypt were able to replicate the first two plagues. They had real power. But it was not God's power. Satan can perform signs and wonders, and his primary tool is deception. He does not always show up looking like the enemy. Sometimes he shows up looking like an answer. This is why we must test everything against the Word of God. Feelings, experiences, and even miracles are not enough on their own. The Bible is our anchor. It is the standard by which we measure everything we see and hear. Here is the encouragement: you are not left defenseless. The One who lives inside you is greater than anything the enemy can throw at you. You have access to discernment, wisdom, and truth. Use them.
Bible Verse
"You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." - 1 John 4:4
Reflection Question
How are you currently testing the spiritual influences in your life against the truth of Scripture, and where might you need to be more discerning?
Prayer
Holy Spirit, give me wisdom to discern what is truly from You and what is not. Guard my heart and
mind against deception, and keep me anchored in Your Word. Amen.
