Two Freedoms, One Choice
Today we honor two types of freedom: the temporal freedom won by soldiers on battlefields and the eternal freedom won by Jesus on the cross. Both required blood. Both demanded the ultimate sacrifice. But there's a crucial difference—one freedom is temporary, the other is eternal. The liberty our soldiers died to preserve will one day pass away when this world ends. But the freedom Christ purchased will last forever. Soldiers died for our freedom; Jesus died so we can live forever. As we remember those who gave their lives for our nation, let's not forget the One who gave His life for our souls. The question each of us must answer is this: Have you applied the blood of Jesus to the doorpost of your life? If not, this is your moment. Don't wait, don't hesitate. The same blood that freed the Israelites from Egypt and purchased our eternal salvation is available to you right now. Let the blood of Jesus set you free.
Bible Verse
'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.' - John 3:16
Reflection Question
If you were to die today, are you confident that you have applied the blood of Jesus to your life and received eternal freedom?
Prayer
Jesus, I thank You for dying to give me eternal freedom. If I haven't already, I apply Your blood to my life right now and receive the gift of eternal life.
