There Is Only One Way

We live in a world that celebrates options. More choices, more paths, more ways to get where you

want to go. That mindset feels comfortable and tolerant, but it runs directly into a wall when it meets the claims of Jesus Christ. Jesus did not offer Himself as one option among many. He said plainly that He is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. That is not an exclusive claim made by His followers. It is a declaration He made about Himself. Cain believed he could approach God on His own terms. He brought what he wanted to bring rather than what God had asked for. Billions of people throughout history have followed that same instinct, trusting in their own efforts, their own religion, or their own moral record to make them right with God. But here is the encouraging truth. You do not have to figure out the way to God. The way has already been made. Jesus Christ walked it for you, all the way to the cross and out of the grave. You simply have to trust Him. That is not a burden. That is the greatest gift you will ever receive.

Jesus, thank You for being the way when I had no way of my own. Help me to trust You completely

and to never look for another path to the Father. Amen.
