Spirit-Filled, not Strife-Filled

Here's a powerful truth that can transform how we handle every relationship: you cannot be spirit-filled and strife-filled at the same time. These two states are mutually exclusive. When we're walking in the Spirit, we naturally produce the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness. When we're filled with strife, we're operating in the flesh. Most church conflicts aren't actually about sin - they're about preferences, methods, and personal opinions. We get worked up over worship styles, program decisions, or leadership approaches, forgetting that unity is more important than getting our way. The Spirit of God calls us to pursue peace and to prefer one another in love. When we handle conflict God's way - examining our hearts, speaking directly and lovingly, forgiving freely, and prioritizing unity - something beautiful happens. Relationships are restored, the church family grows stronger, and God's presence is free to move among His people without hindrance. The choice is ours daily: will we walk in the Spirit or give in to strife? Will we be peacemakers or troublemakers? Will we contribute to unity or division? As we commit to being spirit-filled rather than strife-filled, we become part of God's solution for a healthy, thriving church community.

Bible Verse

'So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.' - Galatians 5:16

Reflection Question

In your current relationships and interactions at church, are you operating more from a spirit-filled mindset or allowing strife to influence your attitudes and actions?

Prayer

Holy Spirit, fill me completely so there's no room for strife in my heart. Help me walk in Your power and produce Your fruit in all my relationships. Amen.
