Love That Chooses to Stay

Real love isn't just a feeling - it's a choice, especially when it comes to loving fellow believers. Jesus commands us to love one another as He has loved us, which means sacrificially and unconditionally. This kind of love doesn't come naturally because church is filled with imperfect people - just like you and me. We're called to be spiritually committed to difficult people, hurting people, and people who sometimes get on our nerves. This isn't about pretending everyone is perfect or avoiding conflict. It's about choosing to love anyway. Every healthy church is filled with imperfect people who decide to love one another despite their flaws. This requires humility to admit our own mistakes, patience with others' growth processes, and forgiveness when we're hurt. It means bearing one another's burdens and celebrating each other's victories. When we love this way, we reflect Christ's love for us - love that chose to stay when we were unlovable. Our love for fellow believers becomes a testimony to the world that we truly belong to Jesus.

Bible Verse

'My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.' - John 15:12

Reflection Question

Is there a fellow believer you're struggling to love, and how can you choose to show Christ's love to them this week?

Prayer

Jesus, give me Your heart for my brothers and sisters in Christ. Help me love sacrificially, even when it's difficult.
