Hidden in the House of God

Sometimes God does His greatest work in the most unexpected places. Not in the palace. Not on the front page. But in a quiet, hidden room where no one is watching. For six years, the rightful king of Judah was hidden inside the temple. Joash was not on a throne. He was not making headlines. He was simply being raised in the house of God, protected and prepared for a moment that had not yet come. And while Athaliah celebrated her victory, God was quietly keeping His promise alive.

Maybe you are in a season that feels like that hidden room. You are not where you thought you would be by now. Things are quiet. Progress feels invisible. The enemy has been whispering that you have been forgotten, that your best days are behind you, that God has moved on. He has not. God was keeping a promise alive in a hidden room, and He may be doing the very same thing in your life right now. The season of hiddenness is not a season of abandonment. It is a season of preparation. What God is building in you during this quiet time is exactly what He will use when the moment arrives. Do not despise the hidden season. It is holy ground.

Bible Verse

"But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram and sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the royal princes, who were about to be murdered. She put him and his nurse in a bedroom to hide him from Athaliah; so he was not killed." - 2 Kings 11:2

Reflection Question

Are you currently in a season of hiddenness, and if so, what might God be preparing in you during this time that you cannot yet see?

Prayer

Father, help me to trust You in the quiet seasons when nothing seems to be happening. Remind me that You are still working, still keeping Your promises, and still preparing me for what is ahead. Amen.
