Every Blessing Carries An Assignment

Scripture 1 Peter 4:10–11

Central Truth

God entrusts blessings, gifts, and testimonies to us so they can become channels of grace to others.

Devotional

We often say, “God has blessed me,” without considering why He has blessed us.

God’s blessings are expressions of His kindness, but they also carry responsibility.

If God has given you financial resources, you can help meet needs and advance His work. If He has given you knowledge, you can teach. If He has given you influence, you can encourage others toward truth. If He has brought you through suffering, you can comfort someone walking through a similar valley.

Every blessing carries an assignment.

The same principle applies to your testimony.

Only you know every detail of what God saved you from. Only you know the fears, failures, sins, questions, and circumstances that marked your journey. Yet you are not alone in that experience. Someone else is facing a struggle similar to the one from which God delivered you.

Your testimony may become the instrument God uses to give that person hope.

You do not have to possess an extraordinary story. The power of a testimony is not found in how dramatic the past was. Its power is found in the grace of the Savior who changed your life.

Do not bury what God has entrusted to you.

Reflection Questions

  1. What specific blessings has God placed in your life?

  2. What responsibility may be connected to those blessings?

  3. What part of your testimony could give hope to someone else?

Prayer

Father, thank You for every gift, opportunity, lesson, and blessing You have entrusted to me. Forgive me for burying what You intended me to share. Show me how to use my blessings and testimony for Your glory and the good of others. Amen.

Daily Challenge

Write your testimony in three parts: what your life was like, how you came to Christ, and what Jesus has changed. Prepare to share it in three minutes or less.
