The Enemy’s Rage Is Not His Reign

When things go wrong, it can feel like evil is winning. The news is loud. The enemy is active. And if

you are not careful, you can start to believe that darkness has the upper hand. Athaliah's takeover looked total. She had the palace, the power, and the people. She tore down what was holy and replaced it with altars to Baal. From the outside, it looked like a complete victory for the enemy. But looks can be deceiving. Satan is loud, but he is not in charge. His activity in the world is real, but it is not unlimited. He operates on a leash, and God holds the other end. What feels like the enemy's reign is really just the enemy's rage. There is a massive difference between the two.

This matters for your everyday life. When your marriage is under attack, when your health takes a turn, when your finances fall apart, the enemy wants you to believe he has won. But his noise is not the same as his authority. God is still on the throne, and no scheme of the enemy can outlast the purposes of God. Do not let the volume of the enemy's voice convince you of something that is not true. He is loud because he is desperate, not because he is dominant.

Where in your life have you been mistaking the enemy's noise for actual authority, and how might that be affecting the way you are responding?

Prayer

God, open my eyes to see the difference between the enemy's activity and Your authority. Remind me today that You are still on the throne and that nothing the enemy does can undo what You have promised. Amen.
