Living to Serve

As we conclude this journey of examining who our true Master is, we discover that surrendering to Jesus leads us into a life of joyful service. When Christ is our Master, we naturally begin to serve others because that's exactly what He did.

Jesus, the King of kings, came not to be served but to serve. He washed feet, healed the sick, fed the hungry, and ultimately gave His life for us. When we follow His example, we find that serving others isn't a burden - it's a privilege and a source of deep fulfillment.

This service doesn't require grand gestures or public recognition. It might be as simple as listening to a friend who's struggling, helping a neighbor with groceries, or encouraging someone who's discouraged.

Every act of service done in Jesus' name has eternal significance, no matter how small it seems. When we serve with Christ as our Master, we're not trying to earn His love or prove our worth - we're responding to the love He's already shown us. We serve from overflow, not obligation. We give because we've been given to. We love because He first loved us.

The beautiful truth is that as we serve others, we discover more of who Jesus is and who we're meant to be. Service becomes both the evidence of our surrender and the pathway to deeper intimacy with our Master.

May this week mark the beginning of a life fully surrendered to Jesus Christ - not just in word, but in deed, not just on Sundays, but every day.

Bible Verse

'For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.' - Mark 10:45

Reflection Question

How can you practically demonstrate that Jesus is your Master this week by serving someone in your family, workplace, or community?

Quote

“Beech Grove does not exist for your family. This church does not exist for Bruceville. This church exists for the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for showing me what it means to serve. Help me follow Your example by putting others' needs before my own. Use me as Your hands and feet in this world. Amen.
