A Worthy Calling
Have you ever received something you knew you did not earn? A second chance. An unexpected act of kindness. Grace you did not see coming. That is exactly what God did for every one of us. In Ephesians 4, Paul makes a powerful shift. After spending three chapters unpacking what God has
done for believers, He turns to how believers should live in response. His point is simple but weighty:
the way you live should match who you now are in Christ. That is not a guilt trip. It is an invitation. You have been adopted, redeemed, and forgiven. Now walk like it.
For many of us, that gap between who we are in Christ and how we actually live shows up most clearly when someone hurts us. The old instinct kicks in fast. Pull away. Hold a grudge. Make them feel what they made you feel. But Paul says there is a better way. A new nature. One that reflects the kindness and grace that God has already shown us.
You do not have to manufacture that on your own. The same Spirit who saved you is the One working in you to make it possible. That is genuinely good news. This week, we are going to walk through what it really means to forgive the way God forgives. Not a watered-down version. The real thing. And it starts with remembering just how much you have already been given.
Bible Verse
"As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received." -Ephesians 4:1
Reflection Question
When you think about how God has treated you, does it change the way you feel about how you treat others who have hurt you?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the grace You have shown me that I did not deserve. Help me to live in a way that reflects what You have done for me. Give me the strength to walk worthy of my calling today. Amen.
